Public Realm Strategies
Urban design strategies which address public streets and spaces - the public realm - help in many ways.
A strategy provides a rationale for reducing the dominance of traffic in city and town centres together with an understanding of place and winning space for pedestrians. Gillespies utilises a coherent approach to developing place specific strategies, which act as a guide for future development projects; provide a framework to attract and prioritise investment; lead to a visible demonstration of quality on the ground and help build public support for a continued programme of improvement.
