Newport City Centre Regeneration

As Wales' newest city looks to the future, plans are taking shape, which will transform Newport into an even more attractive and economically viable place.

To support the two hundred million pound re-development, Gillespies has developed dramatic proposals for key streets and public spaces. Water will be used for significant aural and visual effect, complemented by stunning lighting and specially designed seating, all re-enforced by the design principals which have won Gillespies' work so much acclaim.

The main areas of the public realm to be addressed are a re-configured John Frost Square, a new river frontage, Kingsway Boulevard and a central Galleria linking the new Usk Place and the Lanes providing a varied and attractive new townscape for mixed-use.
