Malaysian Institute of Medicine, Kedah

Malaysia is investing significantly in establishing new tertiary education facilities to meet the nations needs for the 21st Century.

The Asian Institute of Medicine, Science and Technology is a new purpose built university catering for six thousand students. Gillespies worked with the architects to prepare a masterplan for a campus style university where parkland would be used to provide a strong image and a beautiful environment in which students live and study.

The university occupies a ninety hectare site with wooded hills to the north providing an attractive backdrop. A stately boulevard links the main road with the university core and provides a serene drive past new lakes, sports fields, lawns and a mosque.
