Motorola Production Facility, Swindon

Motorola made a major investment in a new plant and related offices on a greenfield site East of Swindon for which they required a carefully planned landscape.

The solution has been critical to successfully resolving the visual impact of necessarily bulky buildings in a sensitive location. Equally, Gillespies has reduced offsite disposals and hence cost, to create earth modelling which both ameliorates views of the building mass and extensive car parking, and creates new land sculpture around the site perimeter. A new lake forms the focus to the development and the landscape quality is further reinforced by attractive new areas of vegetation.
