Glaxo Smith Kline Research Campus, Stevenage
At a cost of six hundred and seventy five million pounds, the development of Glaxo Smith Kline's European Research HQ at Stevenage was the largest project in the UK after the Channel Tunnel when it was built.
Gillespies was responsible for the design and co-ordination of external works, working with a dedicated design team in a single design office. The landscape concept was tied into the configuration of the series of research buildings and involved the creation of a new parkland within and around the site.
