Armel Mourgue, Associate

Armel hails originally from France and studied at Greenwich University (London) and Larenstein University (Holland) before joining the practice in 2002 as a year out student.

One of his early projects at Gillespies was the submission of an international design competition entry to create a major new town square in Luton. Gillespies was successful in winning this commission and Armel went on to work with several of his colleagues to design the square in detail and oversee the implementation of what is now a multi-award-winning project.  Armel credits his multi-cultural background and frequent travelling with some of the influences on his design portfolio, which in addition to urban squares include large scale residential developments, waterfront developments and a major new mixed-use development at Salford Quays.
